Modbus Dew Point Monitor is a sensor that combines the measurement of Temperature, Relative Humidity and Pressure. Based on the those values ANDRFFT/R-MD/S is computing the Dew Point (°C). It’s suitable for various kinds of HVAC Manufacturers that need to measure Dew Point values. It’s applicable also in living and office spaces, reception halls, foyers, etc.
A sensor that computes dew point can automatically adjust HVAC settings to maintain optimal indoor air quality and prevent condensation issues. It allows for precise control over humidity levels, ensuring energy efficiency while protecting both the building and its contents from moisture-related problems.
In addition to Dew Point measurement the sensor also measures Enthalpy and Density of Moist Air.
Additional options for sensor ANDRFFT/R-MD/S (surcharges):
- passive potentiometer,
- active potentiometer,
- relay.
- Additional possible gas sensors: VOC sensor (ppm) and / or CO2 sensor (ppm),
- Additional option: presence detection – “in-room presence” radius 5m from sensor,
- LED indicator or LCD display for measured values – temperature, humidity (optional CO2 or VOC).
Alternative active sensor versions:
- Indoor Combination Sensor for Relative Humidity and Temperature ANDRFFT/R-X/S. (Not measuring Dew Point!)
What exactly is the dew point, and why does it matter?
The dew point is the temperature at which air becomes saturated with moisture, leading to condensation. We measure it because understanding the dew point helps us predict when and where condensation will occur, which is crucial for maintaining comfort and preventing issues like mold or equipment damage.
Typical HVAC Applications:
First, in climate control, knowing the dew point ensures indoor air remains comfortable without being too humid or dry. Second, in industrial settings, maintaining the right dew point can prevent condensation on sensitive equipment, which could lead to malfunctions. Lastly, in storage facilities, monitoring the dew point is vital to protect materials or products that are sensitive to moisture, like food or electronics.
