Modbus Density of Moist Air Sensor monitors of Temperature, Relative Humidity and Pressure. Based on the those values ANDRFFT/R-MD/S is computing Density of Moist Air. It’s suitable for various kinds of HVAC Manufacturers that need to understand the Density of Moist Air values in Air Treatment processes. The unit for this variable is kg/m3.
A sensor that calculates the density of moist air can optimize HVAC operations by providing real-time data that fine-tunes airflow, heating, and cooling processes. This leads to better energy efficiency, improved comfort, and a longer lifespan for your HVAC system by reducing unnecessary strain.
In addition to measuring the Density of Moist Air the sensor also measures the Enthalpy and the Dew Point.
Additional options for sensor ANDRFFT/R-MD/S (surcharges):
- passive potentiometer,
- active potentiometer,
- relay.
- Additional possible sensors: VOC sensor (ppm) and / or CO2 sensor (ppm),
- LED indicator or LCD display for measured values – temperature, humidity (optional CO2 or VOC).
- Presence detection.
Alternative active sensor versions:
- Indoor Combination Sensor for Relative Humidity and Temperature ANDRFFT/R-X/S. (Not measuring Density of Moist Air!)
What is the density of moist air and why do we measure it?
The density of moist air refers to the mass of air, including water vapor, within a specific volume. We measure it because it influences how air behaves in HVAC systems, affecting everything from airflow to energy efficiency.
Typical HVAC Applications:
First, in ventilation design, knowing the density of moist air helps in sizing ducts and fans correctly to ensure efficient air movement. Second, it plays a role in heating and cooling calculations, where accurate density measurements can improve system performance and energy use. Third, in dehumidification processes, understanding the air’s density aids in controlling humidity levels, ensuring comfort and preventing issues like mold growth.
