The ANDWT500 global radiation sensor (pyranometer) is designed to measure global solar radiation – the amount of solar radiation falling from above onto a horizontal surface.
Global solar radiation is influenced by solar activity, cloud cover, humidity, atmospheric transmissivity, altitude, and surface shape. It consists of direct, diffuse, and reflected solar radiation. The measured value is recorded by the sensor using a black-and-white surface located at the top of the sensor.
In addition to the standard measurement range of 0…1400 W/m², the global radiation sensor also offers three additional measurement ranges:
- 0-1000 W/m²,
- 0…1200 W/m², or
- 0…1600 W/m².
The sensor then converts the measured value into one of two output signals: voltage (0-10V) or current (4-20mA), which allows the sensor to be connected to all standard controllers or monitoring systems.
